Alois Hingerl, a servant at Munich Central Station, is struck by overwork and goes to heaven, where he is supposed to sing “Hosanna” day in, day out as the angel Aloisius. However, as he misses his beer, the angel becomes a grump and is finally sent back to earth with a divine mission - where he stops off at the Hofbräuhaus, orders one pint of Hofbräu after another and still sits there today.
